Karen Winkle is the Practice Manager and has been with us since 2004. Karen completed her nursing certificate in 1994 and has continued her education over the years in the areas of Surgical Nursing, upgraded to Veterinary Nursing Cert. 4, Customer Relations, Grief Counselling, Microchipping, Coaching and Training, Leadership, Training and Assessment, and Practice Management.
Karen has attended various dog behaviour and training seminars and workshops and holds certification by the Delta Society as a Canine Good Citizen Instructor and Behaviouralist. She holds a particular interest in behavioural problems in dogs. Within our practice, Karen performs behavioural assessments for thunderstorm phobia, separation anxiety, and other behavioural problems. Karen also does pet care and prevent-a-bite programs within our local Preschools and Kindergartens. Although Karen has no formal training in cat behaviour, she has taken an interest in this area and over the years has been able to give good advice to cat owners with behavioural problems.
Karen loves horses and horse riding, and has a passion for Boxers. Karen owns 2 Boxers, 1 Ragdoll cat, and tropical fish.
Karen has held Puppy Preschool classes at Ourimbah Vet since 2005
